Sarah Palin

I don't care what anyone thinks--I like Sarah Palin.

I know anyone who is reading this blog is currently looking for the back button, but don't press that button yet. You haven't heard the reason why yet. I'm sure you'll even come to like her too.

Maybe I just have a sick personality, but I think Sarah Palin is a great comedian. She is a youthful touch to politics today. Obama is more a serious youth, but Sarah Palin has never had an incident where she's been talking that I haven't laughed. Her ways of avoiding questions is brilliant, and her accent is riviting. The way she talks about the common people and 'Hockey-Mom's'... It makes me chuckle every time.

I think that if Palin becomes our VP she may bring our country down, but she will bring it down while highly amusing it at the same time.

Issue--Iraq

Iraq has been a big issue for people, and is influential in this election. It's pretty much an issue right now of when to withdraw. I believe all that we need to do is to help Iraq with their issues. We should show their leaders how to lead, and let them handle what has been happening; tell them the basics of how to finish building their hospitals, their electrical plants, and their oil refineries. We do not need to keep our troops in Iraq for much longer if we show them how to lead. And, once we show them how to lead, I believe that we can leave (or at least hope nothing bad will happen before then). Once we leave Iraq, I believe we can still help them with what they need help with, but more as a pen-pal type person than as an army.

We need our main focus to be on the United states Right now, though. Our country is going to go down in debt and depression if we do not right ourselves. Our money could be better spent here, building back America. I know the Iraqis still need some help and guidence, but it doesn't need as much help as we're giving it. We're only hurting ourselves in the process. If we want to be helpful in the future, we need to help ourselves before we fall, because if we fall, we won't be helping anybody.

VOTER DRIVE- Fun News

Last week my classmates and I conducted a voter registration drive. We went out on a rainy day (and got wet) to register people to vote. Surprisingly, most everyone was already registered to vote. The people we got who were not registered to vote, either refused to vote (even with bribery of a cookie or two) or were young people below the age of twenty five. It was pretty surprising how few people were already registered—we asked at least fifty people who passed by us if they were registered, and all but ten people were already registered. This was good not only because it made our job easier, but also that it showed a great many people actually cared about our country. Maybe in other states this is different, but in Massachusetts we have a lot of voters!

The group that I was with got at least a dozen comments on how great it was that we were doing such a thing. A lot of people (save for a few) were really supportive. When they weren’t supportive, the people were very unsupportive—this was a very black and white sort of thing. When they were good they were wonderful, and when they were bad they were horrible. But, besides being called a devil-worshipper for getting people to vote (which I still don’t quite understand how that fits in, but hey, people are entitled to their opinions), and getting a few rude comments, most of the people were very kind and appreciated our efforts. It was a great experience. Even when it rained, it was still enjoyable (though we did take refuge in a bank for a bit).

So, anyway, anyone who reads this now—go register to vote! Y’all can make a difference no matter what you think. ;] And, if you see people trying to get you to vote… don’t call them Satanists. xD
